Jim Francis is an Advisor at Northwest Harbor and a leader in our Business and Digital Transformation Practices. Jim brings decades of executive experience to the Northwest Harbor Team with deep expertise in building, growing and transforming large-scale businesses. He is an experienced senior executive with unique experience spanning a broad range of banking, including building new lines of business from the ground up, turnaround of underperforming businesses and technology transformation.
Jim is a former Executive Vice President and Managing Director for Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc (MUFG). His executive career at MUFG included:

Head of Operations and Transformation: Led over 1,100 employees, and managed the Operations for lending and deposits in the Consumer bank.

Digital Transformation: Implemented key software platform replacements across a broad array of businesses including mortgage, home equity, commercial and deposits.

Affordable Housing: Founded this core business for MUFG Americas. Took unit from a start-up to over 40,000 units financed. Developed innovative equity and tax-exempt bond financing program. Created equity syndication program with top institutional investors.

Leadership: Managed large divisions with over 1,000 employees. Developed innovative employee engagement programs to generate client experience, employee morale and enhanced productivity.

Recruitment: Recruited top Management teams in all key business roles including Sales, Operations, Risk, Finance and HR.
Jim holds a BA in Economics from the University of California at Davis, is an avid endurance athlete, and lives in San Diego with his family.
